A Vu From Your Desk [Update]
With barely a tweet, I’ve launched a wallpaper website entitled Deskvu. Yes, part of the name is because the .com was available.
Deskvu is available for your viewing pleasure and it’s full of wallpapers ready for your gentle application to your respective desktops. Wallpapers are scheduled to appear continously. Hopefully, some wallpapers will be supplied by you; if all goes well, some form of multi-user support is in the pipeline. Aspects are still littered all across the drawing board, but for now, Deskvu is simply a website featuring free wallpapers1, Google Ads and a surprisingly useful RSS feed.
In other news, all of the wallpapers previously featured on this here website have mysteriously disappeared! In place is a new section entitled “photostream”. Odd, odd coincidence.
Update: Deskvu now supports iPhone resolutions.
- There are watermarks on some of the wallpapers, but I’m working on removing those. ↑

To be honest, I’m so in love with Sweden, that if I were IKEA, I’d also name rugs and carpets after danish places.

Actually I was thinking about just having ONE size for all. Vista does pretty good background resizing for too large images. OSX does too, right?
So if I went with a resolution larger than 1600×1200, most people would be happy, right?
Very cool, and I love the name. It really is a vue to envy. Now you just have to launch iPhone/iPod touch desktop pictures too :)
More like, “welcome to Denmark, now turn around and go back to where you came from!” Of course, that may just be my pessimistic view of Danish politics.

Get me a resolution, I’ll give you the wallpaper. If memory serves me well, I could offer that as a separate link, and GDlib would simply scale the image on the server. I think it could work.
It’s 240 × 320 in portrait layout. Incidentally, that’s the same resolution as most current Nokia phones too (quarter VGA resolution).
