Staticize Reloaded 2.6
Staticize Reloaded is a Wordpress plugin, originally crafted by a gent by the name of Bill Zeller, and further improved upon by Matt Mullenweg. Essentially it is a caching system for Wordpress that cuts down SQL database usage. The idea is that once a page is published, Staticize will load the page including the SQL data, and store that in a regular HTML file. This will then spare the database in between edits and comments.
I tried using version 2.5 for quite a while, especially on my old server, and in some cases it did wonders. Unfortunately, it suffered from the fact that it would not only cache SQL errors, but it would also cache blank timed out pages, should the server be that slow.
Not anymore. After a quick bug-report, Matt fixed these issues, and the new version 2.6 alpha works wonders! It should now detect SQL errors and make sure the </html> tag is loaded, before caching any pages. Try it out, and see if it works for you, but be aware that it’s still beta.

I never could get it to work…
Now’s the time to try. While it did take some getting used to, installation was actually pretty easy. Just a question of making a folder called
wp-content/staticize-cacheCHMOD’ed 666, and then download the plugin and activate.With my new server, it’s no longer as necessary as it was on my old server, but I still use it to be kind to my host.
Give it another try maybe?
Can\’t find the plugin anywhere anymore ?

Plus, Wordpress 2 has a built in caching system.
Thx, thought your version was uptodate and the best :) Tried the others, the so often provoke blank pages 50% of the times.
