A Custom Stylesheet Hosted Elsewhere?
Since Beta 4, Fauna has supported typing in your custom stylesheet in the options page. Since structure and design are separated out in two CSS files, this makes it easy to completely separate your design from the Fauna core files.
For now, this “custom stylesheet” has to be stored in the Fauna theme folder (usually wp-content/themes/fauna). But what if I allowed people to store their stylesheets on completely separate servers? Mainly this would accomodate Wordpress MU users, such as those using Fauna on wordpress.com or edublogs.org.
The reason I’m asking is that I cannot fathom all the consequences of this. Quite possibly it could be a huge security risk, grabbing a stylesheet from a separate server. On the other hand, it would allow nearly endless freedom for MU users. Then there would be the politics involved for MU hosts.
In other words: if you’re reading this, and you’re either a MU provider or user, please let me know what you think of this, and what consequences it might have.

Fauna Beta 4
Filed in Fauna, March 12th, 2006I had previously warned that I’d make a Beta 3.1 release, but it has become more than just that. Beta 4 is my favourite Fauna release so far. It fixes some nasty bugs, and, if I may say so myself, adds some features that blow away the previous releases.
