Live Preview w. Textile Plugin

Based on fantastic work by Jeff Minard, I’ve packaged his Live Preview w. Textile script into a Wordpress plugin.

Version 0.2: Fauna Beta 5 no longer has built-in support. Now Textile Live Preview should work with ANY Wordpress theme, without native support. (That also means it’s still just upload and activate if you’re using Fauna).

Version 0.1: Fauna has built-in support. Simply upload and activate the plugin.

Note: This is a rather temporary plugin. The best option would be for Textile support to be added into Jeff’s far superior Live Preview Plugin. Unfortunately, I have neither the skill nor time to do this. So please, if you’re a wiz with PHP, consider doing so. Fauna will support the regular Live Preview plugin (which in the future will hopefully support textile), soon enough.

Note: Textile Live Preview (Ajax Version) has also been translated to polish.

    Hi Sig,

The textile formatting syntax is only shown when you’re using the textile live preview plugin in conjunction with this Fauna theme. You probably are, I’m just making sure.

Can you tell me exactly which Textile plugin you’re using? There are a few out there. Currently, the syntax should show up when you’re using “Textile” or “Textile 2 Improved”.

Hi Joen, you mentioned there are quite a few textile plugins around, and indeed there are, and i’m having a hard time deciding which to use. Could you provide a link to the exact file that you used to build the textile live preview plugin?

    Gio,

I didn’t use a particular textile plugin for the live preview plugin, but I only checked support with the plugins that use function names “do_textile” and “textile”.

I personally use and recommend this one :

This text preview plugin only works with Wordpress. When you have wordpress installed, just activate the plugin and everything should work.
