Fauna Image Pack
Released separately because it’s not needed for the theme to work, here’s the Fauna image pack. It contains
- Header image in a PSD with rounded corners
- Background graphic
Go grab it: Fauna Image Pack
A small note on the header graphic: the default greenish illustration is actually a crop of a larger illustration I made, an illustration that is also available as a wallpaper. Since it was drawn in Illustrator, it is not layered in the zipped PSD – that PSD is mainly there for the rounded corners. Furthermore, the wallpaper and the large illustration are not part of the open-source fauna, only the bundled crop is. I do, however, plan to make a few other header graphic illustrations available at some point, so stay tuned.
great job! but the link does not work. please renew it so that i can grab.
thank you very much and happy new year:)
Here is a mirror until link is fixed…
Fauna Image Pack
Thank you for your response, Makki.
First of all, thank you for sharing your talent. I am enjoying setting up the Fauna theme. I’m looking forward to a more neutral looking header when you do get around to making a few more. I love the background but would love to see a alternative to the bright colors in the image pack. Thank you again creating a great theme!

While I do consider the neon aspect of the header a central part of the design, it’s also a clear part of my philosophy with this theme that it’s highly hackable and customizable.
So… what’s your favourite colour?
Based on what I know about colour psychology, I’m thinking that some dark or desaturated shade of green would be the most calming.
Thanks for the reply. Desaturated green sounds good. I was thinking something along the lines of the lovely background, but don’t know if that would have enough contrast for some. Actually, as of yesterday I’ve gone country. Hope you don’t mind. The bones are and will be pure Fauna. Thanks again.

I’ll see if I can make some nice desaturated greens then.
Of course I don’t mind… one of the purposes of this theme is to encourage people to make it their own.
